Julie French is a hair and make-up artist with a difference – she doesn’t just make the best of what you have, more often than not she gives you back something you thought you had lost for good. Thinning hair? – no problem. No eyebrows? - sorted. Need a make-over? – easy. But perhaps her greatest gift is her ability to restore something completely invisible – your confidence.

From working in her father’s barber shop in Newcastle, to living and working in London’s Holland Park, Julie has travelled the world learning from every innovator in the worlds of hair replacement and make-up artistry.

Her father’s business became one of the first specialists in revolutionary hair replacement techniques in the country. She came to Antenna in London in the early 80s to learn about hair extensions so she could use the technique in her Newcastle salon. Then as newer methods developed in America, off she went to study and eventually teach them.

Back in England, some of her most satisfying work was helping both men and women who had lost hair through stress, hormonal changes, aging or chemotherapy. Working with hospital patients she saw the benefits of permanent make-up so she learnt how to perfect that technique as well. Seeing the transformative power of beautiful make-up she decided to learn the craft of make-up artistry from the very best and did a course with celebrity make-up artist Louise Constad at her London school.

Having travelled the world and worked with so many different clients from hospital patients to celebrities, Julie has a deep understanding of confidence issues, trust and confidentiality.

Initial Consultations (which are free) last one hour, during which time Julie will discuss your needs, make her recommendations and explain the intricacies of technique, maintenance and cost.

Julie is also available for photographic work, commercials and make-overs.
